Restoring the traditions
"Edda" produces smalt under old traditional techonologies which help to achieve a wide variety of colors, color intensity. We use valuable duy-stuff (platinum,sliver,gold, tin,chrome,iridium,etc), delicate recepies, hyperthermal melting conditions and all this gives us an opportunity to create highly water, heat and color resistant material.
Nowadays there are mosaic masterpieces which belong to different epochs and styles. These are Mosaics of Saint's Sofia Cathedral, Khora's Church, Pantokrator's Church ( in former Constantinople, now Istanbul), Ascension Day's Churce (in Jerusalem), Savior on the Blood Church (in St.Petezburg).
"Edda's" mosaic masters are trying to reconstruct the same decoration traditions of cathedrals, houses with mosaic panels and icons. You can find the works of our masters on the fasesides of St.Prince Wladimir Cathedral, Princess Olga's Equal to Apostoles Cathedral (in Lugansk, Ukraine). Decoration works at Constantin and Elena Equal to Apostols Cathedral are in progress now. This cathedral will be decorated with icon of Seven Saints.

What's smalt. Advantages of Smalt
Smalt is relative to glass: it possesses the same brightness, but it's much more stable. Technology of smalt's production changed a lot since ancient times. Nowadays for smalt production the glass is ground into powder and fired again adding special dyes. After all special procedures smalt acquires an astonishing physico-chemical qualities, such as frost resistance, impact resistance.
Smalt can be produced in cubes or in slabs,which can be used for mosaic production. Smalta has several advantages in comparison with other finishing materials. It's one of the most hardwearing and non porous materials, with blotting capacity that equals 0. This qualities are giving an opportunity for smalt to be used for swimming pools coating, for bathrooms and other placements with high humidity.
Moreover, smalt is highly frost resistant as well as heat resistant, that is why it is widely used when finishing front sides of the buildings and fireplaces. In addition to this smalt possesses many decorative features, one of them is color resistance. Smalta can look like square slubs with ribbed backside or like matt and transparent slice of tear-drop or round shape.
